Mindful Mondays are Back!

{ Mindful Mondays }

A series on Mondays (as often as possible) that calls all things I am doing, thinking, and creating.

:: reading- The Cleaner of Chartres by Salley Vickers & my newest find, Wild & Free: A Homeschool Community publications. Both are truly wonderful so far and I am going to recommend any homeschool mama looking for some support to check out Wild and Free. They even have a conference (on the East Coast this year).

:: listening to - NPR morning edition and the gentle hum of the washing machine.

:: studying- on all things homeschool related. It is dominating my life right now and I think it will until we get into a routine and get comfortable. It is an exciting and new time because we are forging a new path.

:: creating- knitting some winter hats for my girls, finished some homemade pillow cases, and starting work on a quilt for my boy. I think there is nothing prettier than a pillowcase with nice design. It is a nice treat after long day.

:: cooking- roasting a chicken tonight since it will be rainy and damp. These kind of evenings call for something homey and cozy to eat.

:: educating - myself on topics related to homeschooling...are you beginning to notice a theme?

:: feeling- rested after a weekend of home time and visiting family. Also, a bit excited and a bit nervous about what I am undertaking this fall. I know it will work out the way the Lord wants it to but I can't help but worry and fuss over the details.

:: thinking - about the next 6 months as my husband transitions out of military life and into civilian life and where we will land to put down roots. It is exciting to think that after years of moving and transferring from place to place that we will belong to a town and it will belong to us.
