Books on the Shelf

Books Read in 2022

At eight years old, I saw the Disney cartoon version of  Beauty and the Beast for the first time. I immediately felt a deep kinship with the protagonist Belle, who was described as a girl with her nose stuck in a book. I always carried a book with me when I left the house because I never knew when I could sneak a few minutes into a different world. Now, as an adult, my house is "decorated" with a colorful array of books filling many shelves. And now, as a creative writing teacher and a writer of my own stories, I can take the task of reading very seriously because reading is an imperative part of my vocation. To be a writer, you must a reader.
