Mindful Mondays
{ Mindful Mondays }
A series on Mondays (as often as possible) that calls all things I am doing, thinking, and creating.
:: reading- I finished reading The Girl on the Train yesterday. It was really good and it kept me guessing through each chapter. I didn't really fall in love with any of characters or even identify with them but I think that is the point. It was like being on the outside looking in and watching these painfully flawed characters struggle. I liked it and would recommend it. I am going to start something new tonight. Also going to read the children a lot of Dr. Suess since it is his birthday!
:: listening to - still working on my meditation CD but I also started catching up on past episodes of This American Life while sewing or should I say ironing fabric to prepare for sewing.
:: studying- decided to break the herbal remedy books and replenish the natural portion of our medicine cabinet.
:: creating- all the birthday things are ready and waiting. I am starting work on a strip quilt this week and a few springy skirts for my girls. They are easy to make and the girls just love them.
:: cooking- Meatless Monday of Penne Alla Vecchia Bettola ( Penne in a Vodka Sauce) from scratch with a nice hearty loaf of wheat bread and a crisp green salad.
:: educating - Little C and I are starting the week of the letter "Kk". We focus on the letter with stories based around the letter and a craft. Then move into the Montessori Portion with different activities. Our movable letters arrived and I can't wait to break them out.
:: feeling- excitement beginning to build for the spring. March is one of my favorite months ( its my birthday month). We also found out that we will be moving this summer to a more permanent home/place while James transitions from active duty service to reserve duty and civilian work. We are about 98% sure that we are moving back to his home town ( not far from mine) and the town where I went to college. It is so exciting to think about living in a sleepy little town on a quiet river. I am just bursting with hope.
:: thinking - about my baby boy who turns 1 years old this week. Where does the time go? I am just savoring every moment.

moving again? my you have a lot to plan but how nice that it will be going "home" and familiarity! happy birthday month to you :)
ReplyDeleteYes, we knew this move was coming up but not so soon but that is okay because summer is the best time to move. I will be glad to be settled finally. This will be our last rent as we find a home to buy/build. It will be nice to finish with the Navy and open a new chapter.
