Celebration

:: Celebration ::

Our oldest, Miss E celebrated her fifth birthday yesterday. It is hard to believe that five years I left for the hospital to have our first child. My husband was deployed and it was up to my mom to offer all the strength and support during labor. I didn't think I could do it but in the wee morning hours Miss E was born. I still remember the shear happiness of holding her in my arms and the first time James saw her when he stepped off the boat. The last five years have flown by and I have watched my baby turn into a little girl.

We enjoyed a birthday dinner with family last night. Both girls helped make the birthday cake.(disclaimer: I am not very good at decorating cakes but Miss E enjoyed it none the less.)
Saturday we will have a first ever birthday party with a bunch of little girls at our home. Miss E is super excited to have friends over.

As we celebrate birthdays and our children get older I realize how blessed I am to watch these little people grow, explore, and learn in this big world. So while Miss E celebrates her birthday I also get to celebrate the joy of motherhood.
