The Weekend

Our Weekend:

Friday night pizza and movie: Frozen started our weekend

Saturday morning I woke up to warmer temperatures and a dreaded trip to the commissary, don't get me wrong the prices are perfect for our budget and I always feel at home in the military grocery store but I really dislike spending too much time shopping for food. It may be because I pain-staking plan out meals that are budget friendly and nutritious. I need my farmer's market and CSA now! It is hard to eat healthy.

Saturday afternoon was filled with cake baking and a visit from my aunt and cousins to see the baby.

Saturday night we enjoyed our first summer dinner, BBQ chicken. It was just lovely especially with the windows open.

Sunday morning was morning Mass and breakfast. I spent the afternoon catching up on some sewing that I have been putting off forever. I made 8 new burp clothes for our little guy and put together bibs for the future. Somewhere in the pile of sewing is a quilt that will be finished and fabric for a new bag for me.

Sunday evening supper followed by cake! I made Red Wine Chocolate Cake with whipped cream topping and enjoyed with a little treat of Irish Whiskey. It was divine and I recommend this recipe from Smitten Kitchen. I love this blog and her recipes for amazing!

As always our weekend was filled with crazy marker wielding toddlers and lots of baby loving!
