Yarn Along
:: Yarn Along ::
This week is all about working on finishing up projects. I am still working on my mystery knit along from Ysolda. It probably take awhile before I actually finish it but is fun to do. I am looking forward to the finished product. Meanwhile, I am finishing up a baby sweater for our little guy who will be here soon ( I hope!) and I am finishing up a short sleeve sweater for my oldest gal. I would love to have this finished and complete a smaller one before Easter so both my gals have something pretty to wear.
I am finishing up The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. It is not exactly what I expected but I really liked it. It is good to be surprised by books. I won't give any more away since some of you might want to read it. I am starting The House Girl by Tara Conklin. Another book recommendation from a friend. I don't know how far I will get because things are going to get a shake up very soon with the arrival of our little guy. I think reading may slip off the radar for awhile at least until we get into a new routine.
If you are wondering, I am protesting winter by having some new potted plants in my house and a spring looking tablecloth. I am ready to cast off the heavy coat of winter and enjoy the warmer season. Until then, I'll be dreaming of daffodils.

I have heard good and bad things about The Goldfinch, still not sure if I will pick it up. How was your weather today? We enjoyed the most wonderful spring like day, it was +7 and the sun was shining. It was just lovely. We have a few more days of this before the cold temps return.
ReplyDeleteIt was not what I expected in a story. I liked it but I didn't love it. A bit depressing at times. Honestly, I am one of those obsessive readers who feels obligated to finish a book once started. My favorite genre is Historical Fiction. Our weather has been crazy, after 8 years of living in the southern part of the US I am spoiled. We had a thunderstorm today and the temps were close to 50 but still have a good foot of slushy snow on the ground. I am learning to appreciate winter again. James keeps reminding me that this hard winter will give way to a lush green spring.
DeleteI'm starting to get the Spring things out too. Maybe if we all do it we might get winter to move on out of here. Or at least not be quite as severe! Happy knitting :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope your little guy is there soon too :) Such pretty knits!
