A place for our little boy...

:: A place for our little boy ::

This past weekend was a long one but a productive one. I was able to finish the nursery for our little boy. He has a little place to rest and grow when he is tired during the day and eventually during the night. I don't like to rush our children into their own rooms because that time with mama and daddy is special. However, I love decorate and have a space for the children when they need to rest. I am excited to share this special space with you all because almost all of it is handmade. I took a giant risk by taking on a whole room by just using my own talents but I am so happy with the results. It has increased my confidence in sewing so much and I could not be happier.

We decided to go with a Woodland Pals theme for the room. The furniture is all from IKEA which we bought when our oldest gal, E was born. It has survived 5 moves and 2 children so far. I think it is worth every penny.

I used an Amy Butler pattern for the pillows, crib skirt, and quilt. Every boy needs decorative pillows right? hehe:)

Coming home sweater and cap

A shelf made by my brother. He also made a lamp but it isn't pictured yet.

Some little sweet felt animals

Now, we wait....

  3. What a sweet space for your little one! Our baby boy sleeps in our closet (it's big and has a window) and I look forward to building a room in our basement for our big boys so that baby boy can finally have his own space :) Now I'm inspired by the sweetness of your décor- I just LOVE those little felt animals in embroidery hoops! Enjoy that baby- such a wonderful gift!
