Big Lace Scarf also being worked on currently with Cascade Yarn Magnum
So, I have been on a knitting spree post Christmas holidays. I think now that all the busy preparations and celebrations are over I can focus again. I finished the Puerperium Cardigan for our son's first trip home. I was going to make sleeves but I really don't want to fuss over putting tiny arms in long sleeves then a coat and then a carrier. I am so excited to see him in it! I am going to begin another sweater in the near future but I am debating on whether or not I should wait until I see what size I will need. I just started the first of two baby bonnets from some yarn that my oldest gal picked out for her baby brother. I also decided to make a quick pretty scarf for myself. I am participating in a mystery yarn along being led by Ysolda Teague Designs. I think it be the coldest weather I can remember but the needles are hot these days!

The cardigan turned out great! I knit a baby cardigan out of some handspun yarn and realized I wouldn't have enough to finish the sleeves so that's how my cardi ended up without sleeves. I really wasn't in the mood to spin more yarn! Now I can use the excuse "I didn't want to try to wrestle little arms into sleeves." instead of admitting that I ran out of ran. LOL. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteOoh, your little cardi turned out so well - I have that pattern in my favorites, and hope to make it someday.
ReplyDeleteLove that little cardi. I can't wait to see him in it too :)
ReplyDeleteThat lace scarf looks gorgeous.
what an adorable cardigan! and I love the color. that baby bonnet looks familiar- like maybe it's in a book I own. I think i'll have to take a look for that :)
ReplyDeleteThe book are reading sounds very interesting. I'll have to add it to my "to be read" list.
ReplyDeleteLove that little cardigan. And I saw a Big Lace Scarf that I liked not long ago. Sizing babies is tricky. I grew mine big, so little stuff either didn't fit or last long. I always bumped up a size to be safe. How's the book??
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed making the peurperium last summer. It's such a fast, easy knit! I love how yours turned out. That color is so bright and looks like it will be perfect for a little boy.
ReplyDeleteI think I am enjoying knitting more now that Christmas knitting is complete.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a reason to knit for a wee little one, maybe I should just start and hold it
for future babies.
I love your big lace scarf, color and pattern, it's very pretty.
