In an attempt to be clever I decided to use a little French I knew to title my post. ( I hope it is right, please feel free to correct me!) But this is pretty much my philosophy this week! We are celebrating several different things this week in very different ways. Mardi Gras ( Fat Tuesday), Ash Wednesday, and Valentine's Day! Phew, this wears me out. Today we celebrated Fat Tuesday in style with mask making, dancing, good food, and homemade doughnuts. The girls and I had a lot of fun and there was A LOT of glitter in this house. 

We also made Valentines  for daddy...

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and our home will take on a different feel. Lent is upon us and though the girls do not understand this season it is a time of quiet reflection for my husband and I. I think of Lent as a "restart" button. It is time to get right and focused on my life. Tomorrow we will have ashes placed upon our heads to remind us that from dust we came and to dust we will go. What matters is the time in between, what will we do with it? I do not consider myself pious or particularly devout but Lent is my time to rediscover and explore my spirituality. It is my time to look into myself and on others with love and acceptance because truly isn't that what God is....Love.
