Yarn Along
Joining Ginny of Small Things
I have some beautiful yarn awaiting my hands and needles. We've had a busy weekend and I haven't had time to really start something new this weekend. But, we're going on vacation soon and I'll have plenty of car time and I can get started on Christmas gifts.
I am starting a sweater vest from a book entitled Heirloom Baby Knits. It seems really easy and a very quick knit!
I am still reading Our Lady of the Forest by David Guterson and it is pretty good so far. He doesn't use any quotation marks when there is conversation in the book and it takes me a back. Doesn't Faulkner write like this? ( I'll have to investigate) I also just received a book from my uncle, That Woman, The Life of Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor. I can't wait to start it.
Happy Knitting!!
That sweater is adorable! I might have to find that book for that pattern :-) And I love your basket that you have the yarn and books in. Very cool :-)
ReplyDeleteI think quite a few of us have been feeling the change of pace this week. I hope you enjoy your vacation and get time for starting your lovely new projects :O)
ReplyDeleteThat cardi looks great and I love the green. Is that green yarn in your basket going to be for that pattern?
ReplyDeletethank you. The basket is actually a gardening basket but since we moved to a new place my garden never took off this year. Kind of depressing but we wont be here long and its onto someplace new. I bought it from The Tasteful Garden website.
ReplyDeleteChange of pace is right! I love fall and all things that will happen but getting into a groove is never easy. Happy Knitting!
ReplyDeleteYes, I found the green yarn online and really liked it. I like dressing my girls in all kinds of colors.
ReplyDeleteI will be curious to see how the Wallis Simpson book is - she is so maligned in popular thought that its hard to know how much is fact and how much legend.
ReplyDeleteI love the looks of that little vest! I personally love vests for my kids...I have to finish up their fall sweaters and then Im on to their vests. :) I found you through the link up, Im sharing toddler leg warmers and my mama scarf this week. Happy knitting!
ReplyDeletethat baby sweater looks really cute. cant wait to see how it turns out.
ReplyDeleteI wonder...is this the same David Guterson who wrote, Family Matters: Why Homeschooling Makes Sense? and Snow Falling on Cedars? Love that photo of your knitting basket :-)
ReplyDeleteIll let you know.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is.
ReplyDeleteSweet Sweater.
ReplyDeleteThe best thing about car trips is the knitting! That is great that you are getting a head start on Christmas knitting. Im knitting on a Christmas gift right now myself. Yes, I believe Faulkner does eliminate the quotation marks which drives me batty!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of that little vest, too cute!
ReplyDeleteI just love baby knits. They are just so cute. I will have to check into your Heirloom baby knits, as I just love those types of books.
ReplyDeleteI want to read that book just for the name of it :) Our Lady of the ForestHeirloom knits looks wonderful, I love the modern vintage look for wee ones :)
