The Last bits of Weekend...
The past weekend wasn't filled with much but a lot was accomplished and put onto paper and into small projects. Miss E and I made a couple loaves of Cinnamon Raisin Buttermilk Bread. We love making bread in our home and it is the one thing that everyone even the littlest member of our home enjoys eating. There is something magical about taking the simplest ingredients and creating such a lovely and delicious yeasty masterpiece. Yes, we're in love with bread in this house and when the aroma of freshly baked bread fills the home everyone seems to float on air in our home.
I also finished Miss E's skirt after quite a delay with our move. I quite pleased with the results and I will definitely be making a few more of these skirts. I found the pattern in the book, 1-2-3 Sew: Build your Skills with 33 Simple Sewing Projects by Ellen Luckett Baker. This is such a great book with easy directions and pictures. Bravo! I am currently finishing a small dress for Ce-Ce.
Lastly, this weekend my husband and I had an engaging conservation (i.e. I get passionately excited about the topic with lots of hand gesturing and such) about the future and what it holds for us. He will be finishing his Naval commitment soon and it is time to put all our thoughts down on paper and develop a 2 year plan. Now, I have never been one for plans and writing them down on paper but in order for us to achieve our goals and fulfill our dreams we must. Oddly enough after this was all said and done it felt good to look at this sheet of paper and see where we are headed. Now, I know that God laughs when we make plans but as humans we need to be able to feel like we're in control. So, here is to hoping, dreaming, and hard work.
Side note: I am already trolling real estate websites for land and small farms. Any advice on this matter would be much appreciated.
As I am finishing the post this morning on my back porch I am watching a male Cardinal feed his mate. *Sigh* Isn't love grand?
So excited and happy for you...writing down the goals and starting to work towards them is an amazing feeling. I can just imagine the converstaion and the excited as you chatted.Good luck and I look forward to hearing more about your journey.
