Yarn Along

with Ginny

I have finally finished the longest part of this knitting pattern ( still the world's slowest knitter) and I am hoping to debut it as a finished project next week! Yay! I am still reading Barbara Kingsolver's Book Animal, Vegetable, Mineral which is quite good and gives me so much inspiration for our second life of owning and operating a small farm after we have finished our Navy commitment. I sometimes get lost in the time we still have serve in the military and lose hope that we will settle down any time soon. I say "we" because when you are a military family everyone is serving the country. Don't get me wrong, nothing makes me more proud than to see my husband put on the uniform every day but it will be nice to settle down someday. Not to mention get back to my farming roots since my father's family has a long history of farming.

Anyway- ( enough of my rambling thoughts) a lot of people have commented on my yarn and I will have to dig out the tag for next week to share where I bought it.

Thanks for stopping by to visit!

  1. I love Barbaras books and that is one of my favorites. Please do lose hope about your farm, it will happen. I was rasied a military brat, married a man who went into the military, and now have a lovely spot on this earth to call my own. Thanks for the sacrifices your family makes for all of us!Happy yarn along day.

  5. I read that book a few years ago and really enjoyed it too. She paints a picture of their year of living off the land so vividly!
