Adventures in making Laundry Detergent
I have been reading more and more about people who make their own laundry detergent and love the results. I have to admit that at first I was skeptical about the outcome. Would it really clean my laundry? Is it really less expensive? How "easy" is it?
Well, I decided to dive in and to my surprise, it was not only easy and inexpensive but it also cleaned my laundry. An added advantage is that it won't cause break outs on our skin. We are a family of sensitive skin. Give it a try and you may be just as surpised as I was.
Ingredients:
1 bar of soap ( I use Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps All-One, organic and fair trade)
1 cup of Arm and Hammer Super Washing Soda
1 cup of 20 mule team Borax
Steps:
1. Grate the bar of soap ( I used a garlic grater which I never use in the kitchen)
2. Pour in 1 cup of Washing Soda and 1 cup of Borax
3. Shake up or Stir for about 3 minutes
They say you only need to use 1 Tbsp. per load but I am experimenting with the quantity per load.
Happy Laundering!

Wow, great post. I still havent gone frugal enough to make my own laundry detergent, but I think that itll be good to do just because. :-)
