Weekends

:: Weekends ::

It is has been a loooooong time since I joined in with the Weekends post but I am finally back. Homeschooling and transitioning our family from military life to civilian life is hard work. I usually fall into bed with my books and knitting just putting off blogging until another day. But the other day I realized that I missed the connection to blogging friends from all over the world. I am definitely a people person and I love interaction with others. I love to see all the small and great moments in others lives because it connects us all.
So, it is good to be blogging.

Our weekends are have been crazy busy and filled with so much goodness that it is just overflowing these days and I seek refuge in the calm rhythms of weekdays and homeschooling.

This weekend...

* Friday night was the celebration on my Aunt and Uncle's 30th Wedding Anniversary. It is inspiring.
* Late night of knitting and watching episodes of Longmire with my hubs.

* Sleepy Saturday morning and ballet class for my little ones

* Getting all dressed up and hitting the city (DC that is) to see Carmen performed by the Washington National Opera. I love rural living and finding quiet repose in the peaceful countryside but visiting DC is so fun and exciting. Carmen was amazing and I love the opera. My husband loved it too and we are already making plans to see another show over the winter. We are hoping to take our girls to see the Nutcracker.

* Sunday Morning Mass

*Winter clothes shopping at the mall. It was painless and the kids were real troopers through it all.

* Making homemade Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Sauce

* finally relaxing and enjoying some red wine while the kids played quietly

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

  2. I recently joined Karen after a time away from blogging and am equally as happy to be back at it. :) Our first date was to see an opera in Portland (Oregon) -- Rigaletto. Still the only opera I've been to, but we had so much fun!
