Yarn Along
:: Yarn Along ::
I am on the last section of my KAL mystery shawl that I started back in January. It is really exciting to see it taking shape and it is my first lacework shawl. There are a few imperfections but I can't wait to block it and wear it. I am finishing out a baby sweater for little guy also. I have some buttons to attach and a small addition to put on the corner. He won't wear it until the fall. I found a shawl that I had started last year but put away after I became pregnant because I was sick. I am going to pick it up and finish it soon.
I have been on a reading break this week. After I finish a really good book ( The Movement of Stars) I have to just leave reading for a bit and digest the book I read. I can't jump from one book to the next. I am a bit late since April is almost over but I picked the Selected Poetry of William Wordsworth at the library. I am hoping to enjoy a poem or two each day and maybe try my hand at some poetry writing. I also started reading Cooked by Michael Pollan. He is one of my favorite non-fiction writers. I love how he thinks about food and eating.
We are off to the Sheep and Wool Festival this weekend. Only 2 more days!
Joining Ginny of Small Things
Your shawl looks beautiful. I call the imperfections "Signature Rows" :) Have fun at the festival. It is the first time in a LONG time I am not going. I am so sad about it :( Have fun for me!
ReplyDelete"Signature Rows" I like that! I hope that the rain leaves and it dries out before this weekend!
DeleteLace knitting is so much fun isn't it? You have this blob, then you block it and it opens into this masterpiece. I am looking forward to seeing your shawl.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was worried for awhile because it looks like a blob right now but I know it will just take a little blocking.
Deletespend lots of money at the festival!!! Can't wait to see what you purchase :) Love your knitting and yay for being nearly finished.
ReplyDelete"spend lots of money" words that make my husband shutter. haha! I am pretty excited about it.
