July: Yarn Along

:: July-Yarn Along ::

We just went to the library yesterday and all of my hold items were ready for pick-up. It was like Christmas! I got four new cookbooks that are cookbooks that I have been eyeing for a while but I hate to buy one if I don't use it enough. Space and Money are precious so I like to preview them through the library. I can't wait to dive in and find some new recipes. I also got the newest Ann Cleeves novel, Silent Voices. ( A Vera Stanhope mystery). I recently finished Once Upon a River by Bonnie Jo Campbell. I finished it in a record of two days. It was gritty and rough like the books, True Grit or A Winter's Bone. A great read if you like those books.

I finished a diaper cover-up for our little one. It is so cute and just  the perfect size for our little guy. I am finishing up my shawl and I am hoping to block it this week. I am starting two new projects this week. A Tiny Tea Leaves Cardigan and Beech Cowl

Summer Learning at Home

:: Summer Learning at Home ::

Even though we have been enjoying the calm days and long sunny evenings, we have been keeping up with learning with a summery twist. This week we have been learning about our insect friends. I love doing little activities and spending the morning with the girls as they explore new things.....

We  read: The Grouchy Ladybug, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and the Itsy Bitsy Spider.

We made: Nature Journals & Butterflies

We explored: insects with hands-on play, math, reading, and outdoor play
