This Moment

:: This Moment ::
A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see.

Yarn Along

:: Yarn Along ::

Joining Ginny of Small Things

The second sweater of 2013 is complete! The In Threes: A Baby Cardigan turned out beautifully. It is a bit big on my youngest but she will be able to wear it in the fall too. It was so much fun to knit. I think I will knit the smallest size next and put it away for future babies. I like it so much that I think I will knit another one for my youngest gal in a different color. Below is the beginning of a cat from Mamma4earth patterns. I am making cats for both my girls for Valentine's Day. I love her patterns because they are easy to follow and have wonderful pictures to aid in the process!

I am reading The Uninvited Guests by Sadie Jones. I just began it so I don't have much of an opinion about it yet. I am still slowly pushing my way through Simplicity Parenting. It is enlightening and reaffirms my parenting beliefs.

I just got my order of chickadee yarn from Quince & Co.  in the color of parsley. I am using their pattern of a simple cardigan. I began winding the yarn last night by candlelight because our area lost power. It was rather spiritual and lovely. My husband teased me and said that I was secretly excited because I could knit by candlelight like my ancestors before me. ( he knows me so well )

Happy Knitting! Please feel free to leave a link to your Yarn Along!

Tuesday Tidbits

:: Tuesday Tidbits::

I have been an absolute slug about blogging lately and I really do enjoy sharing with everyone and reading some of my favorite blogs. It is "mommy time" without having to get dressed up or go out. However, illness cast a heavy blanket of sniffles, coughs, grumpiness, and general funk this past weekend. James and I became sick and then the girls. Needless to say, nothing much was accomplished this weekend and we limped along on whatever I felt up to cooking. We even ordered pizza Sunday night ( and we never do that because my husband is a master pizza maker). Finally, today we have been feeling better and sleep no longer alludes us due to coughing and congestion. Things are getting back on track and tomorrow I plan on throwing open the windows and airing out the funk!

tissues, healing brew, & lots of books

 I up-cycled my first sweater! It looks kind of fun!

Beef and Barley Soup to warm our bodies and scare away the flu bug!
