Yarn Along

:: Yarn Along ::

It has been so long since I last joined up for a Yarn Along with Ginny's blog but I am back. It has been so hot here but I am dreaming of cool autumn days as I knit myself a cowl entitled, Adama. I wanted something in a lovely pink so I bought some Lark from Quince and Co. in dogwood pink. It is shaping up nicely and I can't wait to finish it. I am also starting a baby sweater for my cousin who just had her second child and another baby sweater for my other cousin who will be having their first baby in September. I might just slip one in for us too. You never know. Our boy needs a sweater for the fall so I am looking through my stash to find the perfect color for him. I get a lot of knitting done in the summer because we are always going on little road trips on the weekends.

I am halfway through The Excellent Lombards by Jane Hamilton. It is the story of a family who owns and operates an apple farm told by the daughter. It is an excellent story so far. She recounts her childhood and the struggles the family faces. It is a calm and soothing read. I had finished reading All the Light We Cannot See. I liked it but I didn't love it. I think it up to each reader to decide about the story. Next up on my shelf is Lily and Octopus. It is the story about a man and his companion, a dachshund. I have a dachshund so I immediately identified with the cover. I know, judging a book by its cover. But usually my instincts aren't wrong.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer or winter (depending on the hemisphere).

Happy Knitting. xo.
