Yarn Along

{ Yarn Along : January }

I finished the Milo Sweater Vest last week and later in the week I put it on our little guy. Lo and behold it is a perfect fit (almost too good). I don't suspect he will wear it for long but that is okay because he looks super cute and I can always save it for any future babies. Almost done my Downton Cowl with only one more set of lace to do. It is knitting up nicely and I love the color of yarn. I am thinking of starting another shawl but I might knit up some hats and little doll sweaters for the kiddies. Oh the possibilities.

I finished reading Big Little Lies. It was a good read. Not my favorite book and I had a hard identifying with any of the characters but it had a great plot twist so I ended up liking it but not loving it. I am finally starting Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen. She is one of my favorite authors and I love all her books. So, I know that she won't disappoint. I have been saving this book because I hate reading some good and then waiting for months or even years until the author writes another.

My Himalayan Salt Lamp is finding a renewed place in my heart these past few weeks as the weather has become cold and dark. It just cheers me up looking at it.

Tuesday Snapshot

{ Tuesday Snapshot }

I am just sharing a little of what has been going on around home these days. In a perfect world I would post every day and have lovely words to share but I need to be realistic. I have three under six so I know that "me" time is precious and I usually have one eye on the children.  Nonetheless, I love sharing what we are up to and hearing from friends.

Here is what has been happening....

* bird watching
* baby knit wearing
* knitting and loving my Himalayan salt lamp
* finishing up a bag for the Etsy shoppe
* mail packages with beautiful felt inside
* little creations- clothespin fairies
* cardboard housing making as we recover from sickness
* tissue paper candle holders
* lots of tea
* stories read aloud
* general slow moving days

Mindful Mondays

{ Mindful Mondays }

 I am starting a new post series on Mondays (as often as possible) that calls all things I am doing, thinking, and creating together in one space. A good starting place for the week and a way to ease into Monday.

What I am.....

:: readingBig Little Lies done. I was surprised by the end that I actually liked the book because in the beginning it was a bit slow and I really didn't like any of the characters. I am not sure that any of the characters really struck a note with me but nonetheless it picked up and speed and did not end the way I thought. So, good plot twist. I started reading Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen. She is one of my favorite authors so I know she won't disappoint me.

:: listening to - right now, I am listening to the quiet rain hit  the eaves of the house. A cold rainy/icy day. I dug out my If On A Winter's Night CD by Sting for these long bleak winter days. He just fills my house with soothing sounds. ( I know I am a bit young to love Sting but I do)

:: studying- seedling catalogs because I yearn for fresh veggies and fruits in the cold of winter still....I am also starting a online course this week so I will be a busy bee.

:: creating- 1 bag complete and on the next. I think the girls and I will make some stained glass candle holders today.

:: cooking- tonight's dinner will be Quick Shrimp Fried Rice & Egg Rolls

:: educating -both girls today since schools are closed.

:: feeling- a bit agitated these days ( I think it may be cabin fever after a weekend of sickness and bad weather). I am looking forward to a quiet afternoon.

:: thinking - about our friends across the pond as they start a new week after terrible terrorist attacks in France. Prayers of peace and healing to them.
