Creative Friday

:: Creative Friday ::

I have been working on birthday gifts this week. Our youngest celebrates her 2nd birthday this weekend. I have made her a birthday crown and I am working on a sun dress. I also bought her the pattern Maggie the Rabbit Kit. I don't think I will finish it in time for her birthday but it will still be a super cute gift.

Happy Crafting!

What we did today....

:: What we did today ::

We spent the day doing a bunch of different things (i.e. mommy did some much needed cleaning) and we were able to enjoy a little backyard time. Just a normal day in the life. I wanted to share a craft I stumbled upon from the blog Under the Sycamore, fabric-covered jars. They are so easy to make and it was a fun craft for the girls and I to make together. ( And that hanging shelf is definitely going to be made and hung in my kitchen) We also found out that we got the house we have wanted and we are moving next month! So much to think about and do, it is a very exciting time in our home.

Yarn Along

:: Yarn Along ::

This past week I have been diligently working on finishing up my first pattern and block it. I hope to share it next week along with the pattern. It might have a mistake or two so I will be open to editing and advice! I have been working on the Kina Sweater for my oldest gal. It is an easy knit and I love knitting with the Cascade 220 yarn. I have also had babies on the brain this week. ( No, I am not pregnant...yet!) So, I decided to start a pair of baby booties because it always pays to be prepared. Right? I just love the pattern, bySaartje Knits. I am using yarn I found at Michaels craft store, Simply  Soft Baby Brights by Caron.

I received my copy of Inferno by Dan Brown. His books are my guilty pleasure that I devour within a week. I know they can be controversial and far-fetched but my brain just needed a break. I am finally finished my course on holistic life coaching training and I need a rest before I start my herbology course this summer.
In completely unrelated news, I think we have finally found our new home ( at least for the next two years). It is a cute cape cod on two acres in the woods near the mountains. Our fingers are crossed and prayers are said in hopes that everything goes through as planned. I am very excited! I can't wait to have some land to explore.

What are you knitting?

Happy Knitting xo.

From the sewing table

:: From the Sewing Table ::

I have been burning the midnight oil these past few nights while I work on birthday gifts and a dress for our little one who will be turning two on Saturday. I can't believe that my little baby will no longer be a baby but a two year old. Every day she discovers or learn something new, it truly exciting to watch. We call her the girl with one hundred hands because she is always getting into something just yesterday she decided to decorate our wall with markers (thankfully, they were washable). But for my little one I will spend a few more late nights finishing up some homemade things for her big day on Saturday.

Birthday dress fabric and pattern from (Oliver + S) and a birthday crown.

On an unrelated note, I just wanted to add a word of thought and prayer for those effected by the awful tornadoes in Oklahoma. I do have some friends and family with loved ones in Oklahoma and I am happy to report they are doing well. But for all those suffering unimaginable sadness and loss my heart and thoughts are with them this day.
