This Moment

 :: This Moment ::

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see.

What we are learning this week...

:: What we are learning this week ::

 This week we have been focusing on the lovely letter "Ff" in our little school room. Our week started off with finishing up our earth from last week. ( Note: papier mache takes a lot longer than I had anticipated) Miss E painted the continents without any help from Mama. Well, maybe a little direction. We hung it in our school room. We have had a grand time this week with little crafts and work. I admit that sometimes I get caught up in worrying about how much we are accomplishing and am I doing right by my children. But they quickly show me that they are content and free to express themselves without judgment. I think that is the essence of home schooling. Freedom.

Tomorrow we are going to take a little field trip to a forest.

When they are dry, we will hang them up.

Yarn Along

:: Yarn Along ::

Joining Ginny of Small Things

As you can tell from the pile of yarn on my table, I am on a knitting binge. The heirloom baby sweater is knitting up quickly and I hope to be done by next week. I am little nervous about sewing it up because it is a new technique to me. We'll see what happens. The basketweave scarf is knitting but very slowly. Hopefully, James will get this scarf this Christmas and not next! The purple yarn is for the Milo sweater vest pattern for Miss E. I would have started it but I had to order a circular knitting needle for it. ( I have no idea where my first set of  size 6 needles went). Lastly, the autumn colored yarn is for a gift  of a bookmark to go with a book. Needless to say, every spare moment is taken up with knitting or sewing. I just started reading this new book, The Widow's Daughter. It is quite interesting and engaging. I love the setting of Auckland, New Zealand.

What are you knitting?

Happy Knitting!

:: Weekends ::

This weekend was particularly busy and filled with both work and play. I love when weekends are productive because it gives me an excuse to be extra lazy on Mondays. We picked out our pumpkins,  trimmed bushes, played outdoors, baked brownies, watched the stars,purified our first batch of beeswax cappings,  pulled out winter clothes, and  Mama even did a bit of sewing.

On Sunday afternoon, James and I put away the girls clothes and I realized that Ce-Ce won't be wearing baby clothes anymore as I packed the crates for storage.It is always a bit sad for me because I know she is growing every day. But they are loving packed and await the next baby to grace our lives because I know they will be used again in the future.

All in all we had a wonderful weekend and we soaked up every moment of our time together.

no joke, a giant spider was in the room and this is where James found me. I am deathly afraid of spiders when they enter my home...
