:: Weekends ::

We have finished another great weekend of doing nothing. Well not, nothing but just relaxing and spending quality family time. Part of our weekend was spent scouring area stores and consignment  shops for good deals on children's winter clothing. I love seeing my girls in snappy little outfits but I don't like how much children's clothes cost. So, we do a little of new and a little consignment. Thankfully, we made it through the day without any major meltdowns and stayed within our budget.

The other part of our weekend....

Outdoor evening painting....

Making Homemade Salves...

Lavender Salve & Calendula Beeswax Salves

Sewing: working on a doll quilt for Miss E for Christmas

Making a fall leaf wreath....

Hope your weekend was full of relaxation and quality family time....

Yarn Along

:: Yarn Along ::

Joining Ginny of Small Things

I have been in a knitting fury the last week and half. I am working on three different projects at once    and it is a lot of fun to break the monotony one project with another.

Lace Pattern Bookmark (half done)

Sweater Vest for Baby Ce-Ce

Yarn for my fingerless gloves

I am currently reading The Map of True Places by Brunonia Barry. It is pretty good so far but we'll how it goes.

Happy Knitting!

Cookies & Paint

:: Cookies & Paint ::

I got home from vacation and got a little bee in my bonnet. So, the last couple of days have been a whirlwind of cleaning and reorganizing of our home. Let me start by saying I am a serial furniture mover and room reorganizing. ( not sure where that falls in the DSM - IV) As a result, 80% of my home is cleaned and reorganized.  The girls have been such good sports about the whole ordeal that this afternoon I just had to breathe!

We made some cookies and enjoyed an afternoon of painting outdoors.

These cookies are from the latest edition of Cooking Light and they are only 40 calories per cookie made with Whole Wheat Flour....they rock!

It is now time to just.....breathe!
